Samsung inaugurates Smart School in Senegal
The Ministry of Education in Senegal and Samsung Electronics Africa have announced the launch of a mobile education solution, which aims to create positive change hence providing an advanced and interactive c l a s s r o o m experience for learners.
H a v i n g presence in Plan Jaxaay Secondary School, the Samsung Smart School initiative is an cohesive platform that includes m o n i t o r i n g and controlling feature – which enables teachers to keep track of educational content on their learners’ screens – a screen-sharing feature and a realtime questiona n d – a n s w e r feature.
Samba Guisse, IT Advisor, Human Resources Department at the Ministry of National Education in Senegal, stated that: “The future of education is about accessing information and collaborating locally and globally. Teaching and learning has become social; this has become possible with the emergence of initiatives such as the Samsung Smart School.”
According to Samsung, they always support the development in education with the view of impacting society and the economy. Samsung believes that access to technology can create new learning possibilities for students, paving their way towards lifelong learning and personal development in order to acquire the knowledge and skills needed in today’s society.
With the launch of the initiative in the country in partnership with Millennium Connect Africa, Samsung’s Smart Schools are part of the company’s far-reaching African citizenship programme, designed to improve the lives of Africans. Smart Schools have also been installed in countries like Mali, South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda, DR Congo and Sudan.
